Text:
Born without sight
Questioned who caused his sunless plight
Christ ended his night
Giving him heavn’ly light — he could see
When asked who healed him
He said “A man that’s called Jesus”
His answer to them
Revealed his faith’s genesis
Doubters distraught
They asked him how it had been wrought
Anointed with clay
Told to rinse straight away — he believed
They asked him once more
Who was it that had made him whole
Proclaimed he therefore
“A prophet” — sight to restore
Pressured again
He cried “I was blind, now I see”
He could not condemn
One who healed openly — steadfast he
Cast out, forced to leave
He saw Christ Jesus, who inquired
“Dost thou now believe?”
“I believe” — he was inspired
Chorus:
Christ came into this world for mankind
So they that see not might see
And they which see might be made blind
Meekness — lens which sets our eyes free
